Demand for Coldplay’s concerts in Hong Kong remains high with fans reporting being stuck in a virtual queue for at least 30 minutes when advance tickets for an added show went on sale.

Hongkonger Rachel Ball said on Wednesday that she had managed to successfully buy tickets for Coldplay’s extra show on April 8, after failing several times previously for other dates.

“I thought the system was a little better this time,” she said. “They included an estimated wait time [that was] more than an hour, but I got in after about 40 minutes.”

The British rock band and local promoter Live Nation announced last week that because of the “incredible demand” an extra concert date had been added in Hong Kong, on top of the existing April 9, 11 and 12 shows.

Similar to previous rounds of ticket sales, an artist presale session gave fans who had earlier signed up on Coldplay.com first dibs for the April 8 show at 3pm on Wednesday.

Ball said she had signed up when tickets for the original three shows were released.

“I tried to buy tickets … the first time, but despite getting in after waiting over two hours each time, I had no luck,” she said.
