Hong Kong Ocean Park’s planned adventure zone to feature zip lines, bungee jumping in 2028
Park chairman Paulo Pong says new 120,000 square metre zone will offer diverse range of outdoor activities for residents and tourists
Hong Kong’s Ocean Park will offer zip lines and bungee jumping as part of the attraction’s proposed HK$352 million new adventure zone set to open in 2028.
The new 120,000 square metre site, developed by a consortium between Shun Tak Holdings and adventure tourism firm AJ Hackett International, will include two bungee jumping and giant swing facilities as well as zip lines spanning around 1km (0.62 miles) each.
“We hope the adventure zone will be able to attract guests and families who love adventure … bring new and different outdoor adventure experiences to Hong Kong residents and tourists from around the world,” Ocean Park chairman Paulo Pong Kin-yee said on Thursday.
“This would expand the customer base of Ocean Park, solidify the park’s position as a world-class tourist destination, raise its attractiveness and competitiveness in the market, as well as help invigorate the Hong Kong tourism sector.”
A Hong Kong stock exchange filing by Shun Tak Holdings showed the project was expected to cost HK$352 million.
According to the park, the new zone will feature three sections with various activities for guests.
One section will contain two zip lines, each spanning about 1km. Visitors can soar across the attraction’s nearby water park on one zip line, while the other will allow guests to weave in and out of the surrounding greenery.
