Hong Kong temperatures to plunge then soar in a volatile week
Observatory says 15 degrees and rain this weekend to be followed by 23-degree readings
Temperatures in Hong Kong will rise and plunge like a roller coaster over the coming week, as meteorologists predict a cold front to sweep over the city on the weekend before warm weather returns.
Lows down to 15 degrees, accompanied by rain and high humidity, are forecast to reach the city on Sunday, according to the Hong Kong Observatory.

Lau Po-wing, a scientific officer at the Observatory, said: “Especially on Saturday the temperature will start to fall and then under the persistent influence of the monsoon it will remain cool over the coast of Guangdong next week.”
But don’t pack away your shorts and T-shirts just yet: late next week temperatures are expected to soar again, reaching highs of up to 23 degrees.

“Basically towards the end of next week the monsoon will gradually moderate so the temperatures will rise again,” Lau said.
