Hong Kong will remain cloudy with patches of rain despite tropical depression Man-yi moving away from the city, the weather forecaster has said.

In the past few hours, Man-yi continued to weaken and depart from the Pearl River Estuary. The Observatory will cancel all tropical cyclone warning signals at 10.10pm on Tuesday.

“Tropical Cyclone Man-yi will move towards the vicinity south of Hainan island today and tomorrow and dissipate gradually,” the forecaster said.

But it added the weather would remain cloudy with a few rain patches, while temperatures would range between 18 and 21 degrees Celsius (64.4 and 69.8 Fahrenheit) on Wednesday.

Under the influence of a replenishment of the monsoon, the weather would be windy over the coast of Guangdong with a few rain patches over the weekend, the forecaster added.

Another surge of the northeast monsoon was expected to reach southern China midweek next week, it said, causing temperatures to fall again over the region.
