The company bagged silver awards for Best in Tablet Publishing – thanks to the immersive, image-driven tablet edition – and silver for Best Outstanding New Product for its extensive multimedia package Voices From Tiananmen, which re-told the story of events surrounding the 1989 military crackdown in Beijing.
The site also took the bronze award in that category for its SCMP Chronicles series of long-form multimedia stories, and bronze for Best News Website. The gold award for best news website was won by Australia’s The Age.

Competition was fierce, with over 50 of Asia’s top news publishers across 16 countries submitting entries, which were judged by a panel of industry experts.

“Our reader numbers have been on the up for the last two years. These awards from our esteemed industry colleagues and experts in the field, coupled with our increasing audience, reflect the fact we are producing high-quality journalism that people want to read,” said the Post’s Online Editor, Wang Feng.
