A travel journal posted online with personal experiences of avoiding fake tourist attractions in Xian such as a false terracotta warrior site has gone viral among China’s online community.

Using the alias “Vigor Mianmian Bear”, the writer describes vividly how to dodge the tourist traps of fake places of interests, the Southern Metropolis reported.
State media including CCTV had previously exposed the chaotic management of Xian’s tourism industry.
A fake terracotta warrior site called the “Hall of the World’s Eighth Wonder” is one of the places described. It features colourful warrior statues with “double-lid eyes” and “red lips”.
