The argument happened after the man was getting off the bus in Chongqing on Sunday, the Linkong Metropolis Daily reported.

The man first tried to slip a 50 yuan banknote in the coin box on the bus when it reached the terminal, but was stopped by the driver who told him he did not need to put more money in to cover the standard 2 yuan bus fare.

Bus driver Zhang Qing told the newspaper that the passenger was irritated when he was stopped from paying and produced a wad of cash and a bank deposit book and tried to put them in the box.

The passenger was unable to insert the cash after Zhang asked another driver to help cover the box’s slot.
