Chinese passenger detained by police after kicking bus door open to get off between stops
A man in Shanghai kicked and broke open a bus door after the driver refused to let him get off between stops, according to a news website report.
The unnamed passenger, 25, took a bus on Tuesday without realising it skipped some stops during the rush hour, Thepaper.cn said.
When he realised the bus would not stop where he wanted to get off he started demanding the driver open the door, the report said.
The driver rejected his demand, saying he was not allowed to open it while driving.
The passenger was incensed and started to kick the bus door, despite a warning from the driver that he would have to pay for the damage.
When the bus stopped at a traffic light, the passenger kicked at glass in the door four or five times and finally broke it. He then got off, the report said.
