Update | New Pirates of the Caribbean ride adds to the attractions at Disneyland Shanghai

Disney’s first foray into mainland China opens on June 16, but it has already seen well over a million visitors. Retirees and tourists eager to see Mickey and what the park has to offer have taken the train ride out to the park and bought souvenirs, snapped selfies and munched on high-priced street food.
The real fun is yet to come. Disneyland Shanghai will feature the familiar cast, but with new additions and ambitious new looks to some favourite rides. One of the most talked-about attractions is the new Pirates of the Caribbean ride, one of the most popular rides at Disneyland parks across the globe.

Other rides sure to wow visitors are the Tron Legacy roller coaster, the Roaring Rapids raft ride, the Seven Dwarfs Mine Train roller coaster, and a ride through Peter Pan’s Neverland with all of that classic story’s favourite characters.
There are more than 300 million people within a short day’s ride of the park and the Chinese media have reported rave reviews from the people who have visited. The park forecasts annual visitor numbers of 10 million to 15 million visitors, with the Golden Week numbers spiking to great heights. There is a lot riding on Shanghai Disneyland, with its spectacular rides and most up-to-date versions of classic and new stories.
