Wang Wei said she was saddened by the whole episode as her husband and 12-year-old son were blissfully holidaying here before the unfortunate incident happened.

James Ee Kah Fuk, Wang’s Kuala Lumpur-based lawyer, said the woman arrived in the Malaysian capital on Sunday night to claim her husband’s body and handle other matters relating to the incident.

“She was also distraught about losing her husband who she described as a loving and humble person.

“We have also met police officers from the Melaka Tengah police headquarters to assist the investigation,” he said on Tuesday.

Ee said Wang did not follow her husband and son on the holiday trip as she was busy with her business back in China.

Her husband Lyu Yong Qian, also from Beijing, was killed on the spot while crossing the road at 9.40pm on August 9.
