Tusked marauder: Wild boar lets Japanese TV cameraman have it
Kobe TV crew on assignment covering growing problem of pigs into the city savaged by a wild boar
A wild boar has become the ultimate media critic, savaging a Japanese television cameraman sent to cover its rampage through a city’s streets.
Bystanders caught the attack on their smartphones – keeping a safe distance from the tusked marauder.
The television crew had been sent to cover the boar’s assault through the streets of Kobe, which has a problem with burgeoning populations of pigs and deer coming into the city from the countryside.
The boar first knocked over a female pedestrian before turning its attention to the unfortunate cameraman.
Video of the attack shows the cameraman running in circles in a vain attempt to escape the boar, before he falls to the ground, with the animal delivering a couple of swift – and painful – bites to his leg and bottom.
