Multicultural international events in Macau
Macau is enhancing its reputation as an entertainment hub with the addition of new international events.
The Super 8
Eight of Asia’s leading basketball teams from China, Japan, South Korea and Taiwan will take part in the preseason invitational tournament in Studio City Macau from September 20-24.

Group A comprises Goyang Orion Orions (Korea KBL), Ryukyu Golden Kings (Japan B League), Pauian Archiland (Taiwan SBL) and Shenzhen Leopard (China CBA). Group B features Chiba Jets (Japan B League), Fubon Braves (Taiwan SBL), Samsung Thunders (Korea KBL) and Zhejiang Guangsha Lions (China CBA).

The top two teams from each group after the round-robin stage will advance to the semi-finals and final. Live streaming broadcast will be available on prime-time TV and digital platforms. Tickets are available from hkticketing or the Studio City Macau website.
Street Food Festival debuts
Macau’s first Michelin guide Street Food Festival will happen at Studio City’s Macau Gourmet Walk, from October 5-8. The event features chefs from Michelin-starred restaurants, Bib Gourmand and Michelin-recommended eateries from across the region with Shanghainese dim sum, Japanese little eats and Macau’s classic Chinese favourites.

Organised by Michelin guide Hong Kong Macau and Robert Parker Wine Advocate, the festival is supported by title partner Melco Resorts and Entertainment. Quaint indoor streets will be buzzing with some of Asia’s best street food. Small plates start from 40 patacas. Chef Chan Hon Meng from the world’s first Michelin-starred food stall, Hong Kong Soya Sauce Chicken Rice & Noodle from Singapore, will be cooking alongside fellow Singaporean Wayne Liew from Keng Eng Kee, which is known for its fusion of Hainanese and Malaysian-style Zi Char home-style food. Admission is free. Operating hours are from midday until 8pm.

International Film Awards
The 2nd International Film Festival Awards Macao, from December 8-14, aim to promote Chinese-language films. This year’s theme is A New Avenue to the World of Films which focuses on new cinematic experiences connecting local audiences with the international industry, and allowing new voices to showcase their talent.

The festival features great directors and stars, but the competition hones in on first- and second-time filmmakers who are likely to remember the city for future projects. Hollywood actor Jeremy Renner will be the Talent Ambassador, and the festival joins forces with the Shanghai Film Festival to build bridges for industry insiders, films and venture capital in both cities.
All roads lead to Guia street circuit
Some of the best motorcycle riders, WTCC and Formula Three competitors on the planet will compete for supremacy in the prestigious Suncity Group 64th Macau Grand Prix on the narrow, twisting Guia street circuit from November 16-19.

3D Street Arts Project at Lee Tung Avenue, Wan Chai
Hongkongers can now enjoy a walk in Macao’s World Heritage site without having to leave their own city. By visiting the 3D Street Arts Project at Lee Tung Avenue in Wan Chai until September 24, visitors can tap into Macau’s dynamism and vitality by stepping onto a painting and experience the heritage site, or come into close contact with a Formula Three car at the Macau Grand Prix.

The painting has a mobile application that uses the latest augmented reality. Visitors can download the ‘Experience Macao in Color’ app, become the main character in the painting, experience the trophy celebration after winning the race and take photos of the memorable occasion.
