Cool ways to escape Macau’s heat this summer
Young and old alike can choose from a wide range of activities
It’s time to broaden one's horizons this summer and to make the most of what Macau has to offer - beyond the usual array of diverse cuisines and historic temples.
Escape the heat in Asia’s largest indoor frozen wonderland, Kung Fu Panda Adventure Ice World, where you can get accustomed to temperatures of minus 8 degrees Celsius.
The fifth edition of the Ice World has been organised by Sands Resorts Macao with assistance from Heilongjiang Provincial Ice Fun World Culture Communication, and Macau Government Tourism Office (MGTO).
Craftsmen put the finishing touches to the project on March 16, by which time they had worked for about 200 hours and used 6,000 ice blocks weighing an estimated 1,260 tonnes.
DreamWorks Animation characters – Kung Fu Panda, Madagascar, Shrek, How To Train Your Dragon, The Croods and Trolls – were sculpted by gifted craftsmen from Harbin in northern China. Bright lights and stunning sound effects bring the sculptures alive in dramatic fashion.
