Michel den Dulk, executive creative director of Walt Disney Imagineering, and Amanda Chiu, senior producer of Walt Disney Imagineering, in the magical kingdom of Arendelle, which they helped to design at Hong Kong Disneyland’s new themed land, World of Frozen.

As visitors step into Hong Kong Disneyland’s new World of Frozen – the first and largest themed land inspired by the Disney Animation blockbuster Frozen film franchise – they are immediately transported away from the subtropical city to the magical and mountainous kingdom of Arendelle, home to the beloved royal sisters Anna and Elsa.

The themed land, which opened on November 20 and includes the fun attractions Frozen Ever After and Wandering Oaken’s Sliding Sleighs, and the interactive show Playhouse in the Woods, embodies the same innovative ideas and qualities that The Walt Disney Company has been striving to achieve for the past 100 years – to make dreams come true.

“When you enter any Disney park, there’s a plaque that says ‘Here you leave today and enter the world of yesterday, tomorrow and fantasy’,” says Amanda Chiu, senior producer at Walt Disney Imagineering, the creative team – named after the words “imagination” and “engineering” – that designs and builds Disney’s theme parks and attractions worldwide.

“It’s a world where you can take your imagination to another level. It’s like walking into someone’s dream.”

The team offers South China Morning Post a closer look at World of Frozen as they explain some of the work that goes on behind the scenes to help bring Disney magic to life.
