The Swiss watchmaker has achieved a new level of haute horlogerie with its latest technical marvel, which is also water-resistant to 100 metres and boasts an ergonomical arch which follows the shape of your wrist

Greubel Forsey has entered the haute horlogerie field with its GMT Sport for 2020. The 45mm titanium case, water-resistant to 100 metres, has an ergonomical arch, which follows the shape of your wrist.

The shape requires an unusual construction, in which the curved hour and minute hands are mounted on an equally curved bridge above an inclined gear train.

The caseback of Greubel Forsey’s GMT Sport for 2020 will show you the time for cities in the world’s 24 major time zones.

“We thought it could be interesting to have a GMT with a concentric display,” says Stephen Forsey of the auxiliary 11 o’clock second time zone and universal time display in which the orb can be seen from above the North Pole. The orb makes an anticlockwise turn on its axis every 24 hours, giving an indication of current time anywhere in the world.

For a more exact reference, turn the watch over, where the caseback will show you the time for cities in the world’s 24 major time zones. The 435-part marvel, held in place with a black or blue rubber strap, is easy to operate, thanks to the pushbuttons underneath the ovoid bezel. One operates the second time zone, the other synchronises the globe with local time.
