5 best jewellery designs seen at Baselworld
Chopard, Jacob & Co., Butani, Pasquale Bruni and De Grisogono claim attention
As the world’s most important watch and jewellery fair, Baselworld brings together some of the most fabulous jewellery designs anywhere under one roof. We take a look at fascinating pieces that commanded the lion’s share of attention from notoriously hard-to-please jewellery connoisseurs this year.
Chopard
A highlight of Chopard’s new 71-piece Red Carpet collection is this choker, which features six rows of tanzanite balls strung together. In the centre is a cluster of colourful gemstones set fanned across a half-circle made of red titanium. Dangling from it is a red ceramic circular pendant nestling a 12.4ct pear-shaped aquamarine in its centre.
Jacob & Co.
Jacob & Co. is looking to bank on love. Morganites, which some believe can help increase their chance of love, are featured in this pair of stunning earrings dubbed “Divine Love”. Each of the larger morganites weigh 93.88ct, while the smaller stones are 6.35ct. Surrounding the morganites are 98 pear-shaped diamonds, which in turn are pavé-set with 360 white diamonds. Talk about bling.
Butani
Hong Kong-based jewellery brand Butani revealed show stopping pieces, but none quite so gorgeous as this necklace. Made of white and yellow diamonds in various cuts, the total measure for this comes to a staggering 156.45ct.
