STYLE Edit: Bespoke luxury watches created exclusively for DFS ‘Masters of Time X’ exhibition

Vanguard Crazy Hours DFS Exclusive (Hero Piece) by Franck Muller will be on show at the ‘Masters of Time X’ exhibition in Macau.

DFS is bringing back its annual “Masters of Time” event in Macau, with the special exhibition running from December 7-9 at T Galleria by DFS in the Shoppes at the Four Seasons.

This year, the exhibition is titled “Masters of Time X”, drawing attention to its landmark 10th anniversary edition.

A curated selection of exquisite watches and jewellery will be presented, but the pieces that are set to steal the spotlight are beautiful bespoke timepieces created exclusively for DFS by Zenith, Roger Dubuis, Franck Muller and Ulysse Nardin.

The Chronomaster DFS MOT X By Bamford Watch Department from Zenith is set to be a hit with the sporty crowd who also want to look chic.

This piece is powered by an El Primero Calibre 400, which beats at 36,000 vibrations per hour and is accurate to a tenth of a second.

Striking red accents can be found on the Freak Vision Red by Ulysse Nardin.

The Excalibur 42 from Roger Dubuis, which will be shown as part of the cocktail dress watches category, features an “X” at 10 o’clock.

The “X” boasts a red-coloured border, while the seconds hand has been removed.

The brand, known for its audacious design, boasts bold lines paired with extravagant gemstones.

Another covetable timepiece to look out for is the Vanguard Crazy Hours DFS Exclusive from Franck Muller.

Its signature art deco style numerals are laid out in a non-sequential fashion. For example, instead of the usual one, two, three and four layout, the numbers now jump from one to six then to 11 before regressing to four.

A highlight is the number 10, which has been swapped out for a roman numeral “X” in red, DFS’ official colour and alluding to its 10th anniversary.

Red is also prominently used in other parts of the design, including the stitching on the strap.

Everything is enclosed in a fully diamond-set case and dial. The exceptional novelty is limited to just five pieces and only available at DFS.

Rounding up the group is the Freak Vision Red by Ulysse Nardin.

This is the first automatic watch in the brand’s Freak collection, and is a sight to be seen.

Featured highlights include a super-light silicium balance wheel with nickel mass elements, stabilising micro-blades and an extremely thin new case made possible by box-domed crystal.

Striking red accents can be spotted throughout the piece, from the lacquered red bridges to the red “X” at 10 o’clock position.

Roger Dubuis has created a timepiece studded with diamonds for DFS’ Masters of Time X’ exhibition.

Other than these four creations, more than 450 exceptional watches will also be featured at the exhibition.

The watches are from top brands including Bulgari, IWC, Jaquet Droz, Piaget, Montblanc, Vacheron Constantin, Blancpain and Jaeger-LeCoultre.
