Where did Prince Harry and Meghan Markle go for their babymoon?
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex, who are expecting their first child next year, checked into Vatuvara Private Islands Resort during their first official overseas tour
Babymoons are the ideal way for parents-to-be to take a break from the hectic schedule of daily life.
Great Britain’s Prince Harry and wife Meghan Markle are due to have their first child next spring, and are as deserving as any for some much needed rest and relaxation.
And midway through a 16-day tour of Australia, New Zealand, Fiji and Tonga, the royal couple checked in to the luxurious, ultra-private Vatuvara Private Islands Resort in Fiji for a secluded getaway.
Situated on Kaibu, part of the Northern Lau island group in Fiji, the island is one of many snapped up by billionaires looking for a place for peace and privacy.
James Jannard, the founder of California-based sports and lifestyle equipment manufacturers Oakley before selling it for over US$2 billion in 2007, bought four islands in the South Pacific in 2009, and spent five years transforming the villas on Kaibu into an exclusive luxury resort.
Forbes called the island resort “one of the world’s most beautiful places.”
Vatuvara describes itself as “conscientious luxury to the discerning traveller” and supports the revival and protection of the oceans and marine life around the Northern Lau island group through the Vatuvara Foundation, which tries to counter the effects of climate change and support the local coastal communities worst affected by it.
