South Korean technology giant Samsung – which launched its Galaxy S10 smartphone in March – announced the release of its newest phablet, the Galaxy Note 10, last Thursday.

The device, which now can be pre-ordered, will be available in stores in the United Kingdom, United States and Australia from August 23 and in Singapore from August 24.

For the first time, customers will have two versions from which to choose – the Note 10, with a 6.3-inch display, and the Note Plus, with 6.8-inch infinity display screen.

The larger-sized device is Samsung’s biggest phone display yet, the brand said at its phone launch in Singapore.

The Note 10, which comes with four camera lenses, will cost from US$949.99, while the Note 10 Plus, which has five camera lenses – including a depth vision lens – costs from US$1,099.99.

The Note 10 offers 8 gigabytes (GB) of random-access memory (RAM), while the Note 10 Plus has 12GB of RAM; both versions come with 256GB of built-in memory.

Alternatively, those people who want more storage can choose the Note 10 Plus version with 512GB storage, which will cost US$1,199.99.

Samsung says the phones will have enough battery to last throughout the day on a 30-minute, superfast charge.

The two Note smartphones, which the brand is touting as productivity tools, both come with an S Pen that allows users to draw and write on the screen. These handwritten notes can then be converted into digital text.

Users can also apply S Pen gestures to control the phone’s camera remotely, play video games and edit videos, including screen recordings.

A streaming service will allow gamers to continue playing PC games on the phone without using up storage.

Other features on the phones include bokeh video effects, and the same reverse charging capabilities as the Galaxy S10 series phones.

Customers who pre-order a Note 10 Plus (256GB) can get a free upgrade to the 512GB version. They will also get a free set of Galaxy Buds and a wireless battery pack, Samsung says.

Apart from the Note 10, Samsung also unveiled its newest tablet, the Galaxy Tab S6, which comes with the same S Pen as the Note 10, an ultra wide camera and a fingerprint scanner.

Pre-orders are set to start from August 23.

Samsung’s Galaxy Note 10 and Note 10 Plus both feature an S Pen, which allows users to draw and write on the screen.

The brand has also teased its new range of smart watches, the Galaxy Watch Active 2, including a limited edition Under Armour version. No prices are available yet for its watches.
