While many of us experienced anxiety, sadness and loneliness during the pandemic, it would not be an exaggeration to say that Icelandic singer-songwriter and composer Björk thrived. She recorded her 11th album Fossora during “an unexpectedly happy lockdown in Reykjavík”, per The Guardian.
Now, years out of the pandemic, Björk remains based in her native land, having divided her time between there and various parts of the globe over the past four decades – from London and New York to the Spanish region of Andalusia.
Her songs not only became anthems for a whole generation of music lovers, but also influenced a new wave of musicians who were inspired by her transient sound – and the 59-year-old shows no sign of stopping.
