Guess who? Taylor Swift once modelled Abercrombie & Fitch’s never-goes-out-of-style white T-shirt – and now the brand is making a comeback

What could’ve been quite the preppy partnership came to a swift end in 2013 after the retailer released a new T-shirt that poked fun at the singer’s history

That’s right – it’s none other than “Style” singer Taylor Swift! This year, her Eras Tour became the first billion-dollar concert tour, but back when she was a not-yet-famous 14-year-old, she epitomised her song “Teardrops on My Guitar” in a moody 2003 ad campaign for American clothing retailer, Abercrombie & Fitch.

While Swift continued her quick march to global domination, her relationship with the fashion brand unfortunately ended for good when they released a T-shirt in 2013 featuring a distasteful joke about her dating history – long before she got together with Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce.

Released 10 years after the initial ad campaign, the shirt, which read “#more boyfriends than t.s.”, was quickly pulled after Swifties rallied online to defend their idol, labelling the item as “childish”, “hurtful” and “a complete waste of production”.

One impassioned fan even launched a petition on Change.org calling for the retailer to “take away” the shirt.
