- The Hollywood actress recently posed in a black monokini with the background Photoshopped to show a beach … and won the internet over with her looks and sense of humour
- Back in 2014, a pap bikini shot of Driver on a Miami beach drew hate comments over her body from cyberbullies – causing the actress to leave the social media platform
Hollywood actress Minnie Driver just owned the internet. In keeping with her classic sense of humour, the Serpent Queen star posted a Photoshopped picture of her in a swimsuit … it was the background that was edited. The 54-year-old looked gorgeous and she knew it as she flaunted her toned physique in a black strapless monokini by Maison Marine Swim. The only thing that was missing was a beach. So she took to the green screen and transported herself to the seaside with a click.
Fans appreciated the humour, and also showered her with compliments. However, the confidence the Oscar-nominated actress has in her body now wasn’t always there. Here’s everything to know about her body positivity journey.
She had insecurities growing up

In an interview with The Cut, Driver revealed that she grew up with insecurities about her looks. “I certainly had insecurities growing up. That I was not gorgeous. I was not super pretty,” she shared candidly but admitted that she is grateful she didn’t “do a ton of stuff that I could have then gone and done”.
She was body shamed for a bikini pic
Back in 2014, Minnie Driver fell victim to online body shaming after pap shots of her in a bikini at a beach in Miami attracted hate comments on X (formerly Twitter), per People. The cyberbullies got to the Hard Rain actress and she decided to leave the platform because it was “too mean sometimes, about your body, about your soul”.
She was considered “not sexy”
Minnie Driver received an Oscar nomination for her role in 1997’s Good Will Hunting. But, as the actress told The Telegraph in May 2022, she almost didn’t get the role after Harvey Weinstein sent a note to the casting director saying, “Nobody would want to f*** her”. The comment left her initially “devastated”.
