“In my mind, gender just isn’t something that feels fixed and I don’t know if it ever will be; there might always be some fluidity there for me,” Corrin said in a 2022 interview with Vogue.

The 28-year-old has since spoken multiple times about the unexpected litany of homophobia and transphobia they’ve faced since coming out.

“The vitriol is worse than I anticipated. Even though we like to think we’re in a progressive society, a lot of what we’re seeing is increasingly a step back,” they told Harper’s Bazaar.

Pronouns are an integral part of affirming a person’s gender identity, and as of late more celebrities have opened up about their pronouns and gender fluidity despite the potential public backlash.

Here are seven more celebs who go by the gender neutral pronouns “they/them” – occasionally in addition to more.

1. Bella Ramsey (they/them)

The Last of Us star came out as non-binary and gender fluid in an interview with The New York Times published in January last year. Although Ramsey mentioned to the publication that they’re not too fussed about pronouns, they have also spoken about preferring what are commonly perceived as gender-neutral pronouns.

“Being called ‘they’ is the most truthful thing for me. That’s who I am the most,” Ramsey told British Vogue in June last year.

2. Sam Smith (they/them)

Afterwards in an X (formerly Twitter) post, Smith announced they were officially changing their pronouns to “they/ them”.

3. Elliot Page (he/they)

The Umbrella Academy star Elliot Page came out as trans through a post on X in 2020.

“I want to share with you that I am trans and my pronouns are he/they,” Page wrote in his statement. “I love that I am trans. And I love that I am queer,” they continued.

4. Halsey (she/they)

In 2021, the “Bad at Love” singer quietly changed her pronouns to “she/they” on both Instagram and X.

In an Instagram Story, the singer thanked supportive fans and clarified her preferred pronouns. “The inclusion of ‘they’, in addition to ‘she’, feels most authentic to me,” they wrote.

5. Demi Lovato (she/they)

Lovato came out as non-binary in the pilot episode of their podcast 4D in 2021. The “Cool for the Summer” singer also announced that they would officially be changing their pronouns to “they/ them”.

In 2023, the singer told GQ Spain in an interview that they had started to reincorporate the typically feminine pronouns “she/her” because it was “exhausting” having to educate and explain they/them pronouns to people.

Currently, Lovato’s Instagram bio states that her pronouns are “they/ them/she/her”.

6. Kehlani (she/they)

Singer-songwriter Kehlani came out as a lesbian in 2021 through a now-deleted Tik Tok video. In the same year, the “Can I” singer confirmed their preference for “she/ they” pronouns.

“I don’t mind when people say ‘she’ at all, but something feels really affirming when people say ‘they.’ It feels like … you really see me,” the artist said in a 2021 interview with Byrdie Magazine.

7. Janelle Monáe (she/they)

Actor, author and singer Janelle Monáe came out as non-binary in an episode of Jada Pinkett Smith’s Red Table Talk in 2022.

“I don’t see myself as a woman, solely. I feel all of my energy … I feel like God is so much bigger than the ‘he’ or ‘she,’ and if I am God, I am everything,” Monáe said.

That same year, Monáe told Los Angeles Times that her pronouns are free-a** motherf***** – and they/them, her/she”.
