Who are the 3 Hong Kong actors in Nicole Kidman’s Expats? Meet the local cast members of the Amazon Prime TV show, from TVB drama veteran Flora Chan and ViuTV’s Bonde Sham, to friend of Fendi, Will Or
- The TV series stars Kidman, Sarayu Blue and Ji-young Yoo, and took heat in 2021 when Kidman, director Lulu Wang and the crew were exempted from Covid-19 quarantine in Hong Kong
- Will Or won nominations for his role in Drifting, and has collaborated with Fendi and Montblanc, while Flora Chan is a TVB veteran with roles in Healing Hands and File of Justice
Starring Kidman, Sarayu Blue and Ji-young Yoo, the Lulu Wang-directed six-part series is an adaptation of the novel The Expatriates by Korean-American author Janice Y.K. Lee, who was born and raised in the city. It releases on January 26.
The series has generated plenty of buzz since it was first in production in 2021: Kidman and the crew were infamously exempted from quarantining at the height of Hong Kong’s travel restrictions during the Covid-19 pandemic. The cast and crew were spotted throughout the city during filming, with fans catching glimpses of Kidman in Mong Kok and The Landmark in Central, as previously reported.
But local audiences have much more to be excited about than seeing familiar landmarks in the show – the trailer revealed that several Hong Kong faces were cast in the series. Though not much is known about their roles at the time of writing, read on to find out more about Hong Kong cast members Will Or, Bonde Sham and Flora Chan.
