Yen shared with Bandwagon Asia that she expressed a desire to perform from a young age – and has the talent to match. At the age of nine, she got one of her first rushes from performing when she sang for 2,000 guests at her aunt’s wedding. In the interview, she revealed that she realised she’s passionate about singing and being on stage thanks to that early experience.
Yen signed on with Sony Music Entertainment’s RCA Records Greater China and became the youngest artist to debut under the label this year at the age of 19. Since signing the deal, she’s worked hard on her inaugural album titled TBH, which released on September 1.
Coinciding with the album launch, Yen performed her second single “TBH” live for the first time at Majulah Music Night in Singapore on July 30. She captivated the audience with her undeniable stage presence as she performed with a group of backup dancers.
