How often do you come across a former world leader at a fashion event? Not very often at all. But Sanna Marin is changing that.
It’s no surprise if this isn’t the first time you’ve come across Marin. The millennial was never your “typical” prime minister during her time in the Finnish office, and she continues to pique curiosity.
At 34, Marin became Finland’s third female prime minister in 2019, also becoming the world’s youngest sitting premier, as NPR reported. However, she lost her bid for re-election in April. She’s since joined a fellow former PM, Britain’s Tony Blair, at London-based think-tank Institute for Global Change, per British media.

Sanna Marin was Finland’s “millennial prime minister”
During her time as Finland’s prime minister, Marin was praised for her cabinet’s management of the Covid-19 pandemic and was considered one of the leading voices in supporting Ukraine since the war began, per AP. She was also in office when her country joined Nato in April and stood up to sexism, quickly becoming considered an icon for female representation.
