Rihana Oksana Petra is no stranger to the spotlight.

The 25-year-old Russian former beauty queen, who won the Miss Moscow crown in 2015, was the name on everyone’s lips when Kelantan’s Sultan Muhammad V Faris Petra – then king of Malaysia – made history in January 2019 by becoming the country’s first monarch to abdicate from the throne.

The decision of the sultan to give up his throne, as the 15th Yang di-Pertuan Agong, came only weeks after social media around the world became abuzz with speculation that he had married Rihana, who is 24 years his junior.

Last week, Rihana – previously known by the name Oksana Voevodina, before her marriage – made headlines again after she broke the couple’s public silence with her tell-all Instagram profile that confirmed rumours of their nuptials and the birth of their first son, Tengku Ismail Leon Petra.

While little is known about Rihana’s romantic past, she said in the past she was not dating anyone at the time of the beauty pageant. “I do not have a boyfriend,” she said. “And I think that it would be harder for me to win, if I had.

“Because every boyfriend, if he let his girl go to the beauty contest, she will not be his girlfriend any more. Because she will get lots of attention, secondly she doesn't have any time for a private life and finally I think it will be a distraction. I will have the relations when my heart will tell. So far it is silent.”
