The US has officially started its winter holiday season, with Thanksgiving having just taken place and Christmas less than a month away.

President Donald Trump held the traditional annual National Thanksgiving Turkey Pardoning Ceremony at the Rose Garden of the White House on November 24. His wife, Melania, revealed the White House’s Christmas decorations for this year, despite apparently being low on Christmas cheer herself. A secretly recorded phone conversation between the outgoing first lady and her former friend Stephanie Winston Wolkoff came to light in October, during which Melania made an array of controversial comments – including being a Scrooge about Christmas.

“I’m working … my a** off on the Christmas stuff, that you know,” she said. “Who gives a f*** about the Christmas stuff and decorations? But I need to do it, right?”

This year might mark the Trumps’ last round as hosts for such events, but although the first family is expected to move out of the White House soon, they still showed up to the festivities in true statement-making fashion.

Ivanka Trump, senior advisor to her father and allegedly the US president’s favourite child, attended the rendezvous with her husband Jared Kushner and their children, Arabella, Joseph and Theodore. She was dressed in head to toe creamy white, matching a long-sleeved white blouse with tailored cream flare pants. She also followed CDC guidelines, wearing a light blue daisy print mask for the gathering.

Although reading “Ivanka” and “Thanksgiving” in the same sentence might prompt netizens to recall that deeply unfortunate giant clam table centrepiece she showed off in 2017, she’s also known for her stylish holiday outfits.

Last year, Ivanka and Kushner spent Christmas and New Year in Paris. Ivanka posted pictures that she took at the top of the Eiffel Tower, wishing her Instagram followers a merry Christmas. The mother of three was dressed in Parisian chic, sporting a black and white, A-line houndstooth coat over a black turtleneck and flat boots.
