We celebrate the return of everyone’s favourite K-pop girl group Blackpink, fresh from their collaboration with American pop star Lady Gaga. Blackpink is back to drop bangers
After a year-long hiatus, Blackpink thrilled fans with Sour Candy, a collaboration with American pop star Lady Gaga that saw them become the highest-charting female K-pop act ever on Billboard. They then announced that they will be dropping singles until September, when their new album will be released.
On June 26, they released their latest single How You Like That. The group’s agency YG announced that the members will launch their solo songs after September, and that “Rose and Lisa wrapped up their recordings, whereas Jisoo is enthusiastically working on her music”.
K-pop stars who are not Korean?
If you are not a K-pop super-fan, then this might surprise you: Korean agencies are scouting the best talent from overseas including the US, China, Japan and Thailand. One of the leading foreign K-pop stars, who made her mark internationally and domestically, is Blackpink’s Lisa. Hailing from Thailand, her fans call her the “Thai Princess”.
