6 ways Meghan Markle broke royal protocol with her daring beauty and fashion looks – whatever Queen Elizabeth really thought
She wears messy buns, darker nail varnish and ditches the hosiery requirement, but do Meghan Markle’s fashion-forward looks bother Queen Elizabeth?
Meghan Markle’s style is certainly something to behold; she’s effortlessly beautiful, even as she breaks royal traditions with her make-up looks and fashion sense. And she’s so subtle in her choices we barely notice. Kate Middleton and Princess Eugenie might break these rules every now and then, but no one does it better than Meghan Markle.
Thankfully, the Duchess of Sussex has stepped down from her role as a senior member of the royal family since March 31 and can continue to inspire us with her personal style.
When she styled her hair in her signature messy bun
According to Vogue Australia, royals are required to have sleek and neat hairstyles at all times, in public of course. The queen styles her hair with a hat, as per royal tradition, while Kate Middleton opts for a sleek blowout, or keeps her hair in a hairnet. Meghan Markle, however, would sometimes opt for her signature messy bun during public appearances.
Every time she didn’t wear tights
Royal women are required to wear tights underneath their dress. Insider reports nude tights are one of the hard and fast rules, as required by the queen herself. Markle isn’t a fan of nude hosiery, though, and who can blame her?
She did wear them during her first royal engagement as the Duchess of Sussex, but they made her legs look pale, and she’s opted to go sans tights most of the time since then.
