Many readers have found themselves in a situation where they have had to be apart from their child, for work or personal reasons. If that left them anxious, they probably cannot imagine how difficult it must be for mum and Hong Kong actress, Cecilia Cheung.
The award-winning 39-year-old star of King of Comedy and Lost in Time frequently travels to Beijing for work, which is a 2,000km flight from Hong Kong, where her three sons live.
Despite the “flight time of three hours and 15 minutes”, she makes a great effort to see Lucas (11), Quintus (nine) and Marcus (one).
While being an actress is her profession, Cheung said that being a mother is her lifelong career.
She tries her best to fly from Beijing to Hong Kong every night to personally say goodnight to her sons. This was revealed in a December 30 vlog, posted on her Weibo channel, as she reflected on her 2019.
“This is the sense of security I’ve always worked hard to give my sons,” she says.
