Boucheron film reimagines ‘Cinderella’ to celebrate high jeweller’s 160th anniversary

Short film, ‘Cinder Ella’, which also honours Franco-Japanese friendship since 1858, stars French actress Laetitia Casta and Japanese actor Issey Takahashi

French high-jewellery house Boucheron has released an original short film to celebrate the 160th anniversary of the maison and Franco-Japanese friendship.

The film, Cinder Ella, is a reinterpretation of Charles Perrault’s 17th century romantic fairy tale, Cinderella.

Boucheron stands for being true to oneself, following one’s instincts, the sprit of freedom, daring to break the rules and expressing one’s personality – all messages conveyed in the film’s script written by award-winning Japanese novelist Yukiko Motoya.

The film, directed by Kazuaki Seki, stars French actress Laetitia Casta, who is an ambassador of Boucheron, as Ella, and Issey Takahashi, one of Japan’s most popular actors.
