Floral prints blossom on Hong Kong Film Awards’ red carpet
Extravagant designs take centre stage at the 37th edition of ‘Hong Kong’s Oscars’, honouring best actors, actresses, writers and directors in the Chinese film industry
The annual Hong Kong Film Awards – possibly the city’s most stellar event – offers the guaranteed sight of celebrities dressed to the nines on the red carpet.
In previous years, stars have often played it safe in floor-grazing, elegant gowns at the ceremony – dubbed Hong Kong’s version of the Oscars – which celebrates the best professionals, from actors and actresses to producers, writers, and directors, in the Chinese film industry.
Yet, at Sunday’s 37th edition of the event, the red carpet saw a refreshing change, with many celebrities opting for extravagant floral prints to steal the spotlight.
Floral explosion
Best actress nominees Stephy Tang and Chrissie Chau turned out in feminine gowns with elaborate floral embellishments.
Stephy Tang wore a pink Valentino gown from the spring/summer 2018 collection, matched with Bulgari floral jewellery and Giuseppe Zanotti platform heels.
