The collection evokes the energy and dynamism of Paris’ past, the designs evoking engineering and other breakthroughs that helped define the city’s rise to artistic and intellectual importance

Late in the 19th century, the streets of Paris were abuzz with new ideas, the city undergoing its biggest metamorphosis yet. Now Louis Vuitton’s Awakened Hands, Awakened Minds high jewellery collection crystallises the electric growth that defined the City of Light in this period.

The collection balances the two forces that permanently reshaped the French capital – the interplay of its old-world charm with the dynamism brought by rapid growth, intellectual as well as demographic and economic. It is an homage to the city’s climb to becoming a world fashion capital, as well as indulging in a reminiscence of Louis Vuitton’s own beginnings.

To embody an era of exploration and change, the pieces are a combination of a singular design style and one-of-a-kind stones. The designs are as splendid as the era they represent – precious stones set in a mosaic of platinum and gold as if a sheet of woven fabric, in the Phenomenal round collar necklace, topped with a 5.07-carat Zambian emerald; interlaced spherical and triangular yellow-gold structures in the Vision ear cuff, channelling the metal rivets in the original designs for the iconic Louis Vuitton trunk.
