4 gold and diamond-inspired accessories to know now: from Pharrell Williams and Tiffany & Co.’s Greek mythology-inspired collab, to Schiaparelli’s blinged-up sneakers

La Manso Barre
As inevitable as a Pharrell Williams tune going viral, when it’s bling you want, you bring on the gold and diamonds. The serial hitmaker himself did just that in his latest collaboration, with masterful diamonds-for-breakfast merchants, Tiffany & Co. A chorus of brands big and small have picked up the tune, all leaning on the same fun, hip, provocative vibe to appeal to a younger clientele.

1. Tiffany Titan by Pharrell Williams

Music mogul and beauty brand founder Williams is the ultimate renaissance man. The collaborator-in-chief, also men’s creative director for Louis Vuitton, is now winding it even further back in time, teaming up with Tiffany & Co. for the Tiffany Titan by Pharrell Williams, a range of pieces inspired by the trident, the three-pronged spear wielded by Poseidon, the sea god in Greek mythology.

The necklaces, earrings, bracelets and rings in the collection stand out for their punk vibe and the jarring pairing of yellow gold and titanium. “I’m very inspired by the water, and the name of this collection – Titan – draws inspiration from Poseidon, ruler of the sea, king of Atlantis,” says Williams, adding that Atlantis is the neighbourhood of Virginia Beach where he grew up. “The detail in all of the jewellery pieces is very intentional, the use of black titanium is a physical manifestation of beauty in blackness.”

2. Hearts on Fire Barre collection

Hong Kong-based international jeweller Hearts on Fire has been shaking things up with some striking new designs that are sure to resonate with a younger and cooler crowd. Case in point: the recently released Barre collection.

Diamonds of different cuts are set amid sleek, geometric gold designs, giving the pieces a modern and urban edge meant to reflect the dynamism of city life.

3. Schiaparelli trainers

Parisian label Schiaparelli has unveiled its first trainer, which pays homage to the maison’s long association with surrealism. Featuring a trompe-l’oeil gold hardware toe motif, the shoe is a true conversation starter and a fun addition to Schiaparelli’s growing repertoire of striking accessories.

“It’s the fantasy of couture made for the street. This sneaker is particularly meaningful to me because it symbolises what I am: an American in Paris,” says artistic director Daniel Roseberry. “It embodies the meeting of two worlds: American comfort and the rigour of French chic.”

4. La Manso Metal collection

Barcelona-based La Manso, founded in 2018 by Adriana Manso, is the go-to brand for statement jewellery that packs a punch and doesn’t take itself too seriously. Known for its bestselling acrylic rings that come in kitschy shapes and vibrant colours, the label has recently launched the Metal collection, featuring pieces in yellow, pink and white gold that stay true to the brand’s maximalist approach to design.
