Bird poop is not just a symbol of good luck, is it also a beauty elixir. Having originated in ancient Japan, the bird poop facial was sought by geishas as a beauty maintaining tool. This treatment can now be found in Japanese spas across the globe. Its chief ingredient is uguisu no fun, or “nightingale faeces”, which is said to heal the skin and retain moisture by reducing water loss from the epidermis.

The bubbly delight does not end there: after the bath, you get an hour to enjoy a massage and a 20-minute exfoliation session.
