Rome has always been synonymous with style, luxury and craftsmanship, all reasons it’s one of the most exciting fashion capitals in the world. It is also a city with an alluring lifestyle, where urban life mixes with the sun-drenched coast, and ancient history collides with the future.
It’s this unique dolce vita that has inspired Fendi’s summer 2024 capsule collection, designed by Kim Jones, artistic director of couture and womenswear.
“It’s a story that continues today, about pleasure, leisure, work and drama – in other words, life. I wanted the collection to reflect this and expand on the idea of Roman freedom; that elegance in ease and not caring what anybody else thinks,” he says.
Must-haves for women include silk twill separates and airy tulle dresses, while denim is dyed with a darker version of the brand’s signature Pequin “logo no logo” pattern or combined with chambray. This season also sees the debut of the Labyrinth print, which accents the collection’s bicolour, graphic outerwear and beachwear.
Denim is also reinterpreted for men, as seen in the renewed FF printed fringed pattern, on linen or cotton. Also sure to be an icon is the new Summer in Roma print, which is inspired by the warmth and colour of a Roman sunset.
