- Hermès’ Birkin bags are known for being exorbitantly priced and notoriously exclusive, as they’re subjected to an annual quota – would you buy a Lego kit version instead?
- The toy company has partnered with streetwear brands like Adidas and Levi’s, but never a luxury fashion brand – this imagined tie-up with Hermès clearly shows there’s an appetite for it though
An Instagram post depicting a collaboration between Lego and Hermès went viral last week.
The post, shared by Instagram user @glam.tol, was a carousel of images showing kits for making Lego versions of the luxury brand’s highly sought-after and exorbitantly priced Birkin bags.

To add to the steep price point, Hermès prides itself on meticulously overseeing the creation and distribution of the Birkin, making the handbags exceedingly exclusive and difficult to obtain.
Although a cursory glance at the Instagram post’s caption reveals that the Lego Birkin images were actually generated by artificial intelligence (AI), the internet seems to love the idea of a collaboration between the two brands, with the virtual item quickly becoming a “must-have” for many.
A Birkin Lego kit would allow individuals to own a simulacrum of the bespoke handbag, complete with all of its intricate components, without having to spend a small fortune.
On X, formerly known as Twitter, one user tweeted, “I know this is AI but I hope Lego actually collaborates with Hermès – I would do anything for the red and black Birkin.”
