HAPPENINGS: Emporio Armani’s autumn/winter 2018 collection show launched the second edition of the Macao Fashion Week, hosted by Sands Resort.

Celebrity models Lina Zhang, Zhang Huijun and Chinese male supermodels Hao Yunxiang and Li Zhen, who had starred at the brand’s show in Milan, strode down the runway under the Venetian Macao’s high ceilings.

Gracing the front row was Running Man Chinese star Zheng Kai in a white shirt and embroidered jacket. Zheng is Emporio Armani’s Asian ambassador. Alongside him were actress Karlina Zhang and Taiwanese celebrity Jiro Wang, who were outfitted by the brand. Chinese actress and singer Qi Wei showed up in an all-blue Emporio Armani dress, knee-high boots and sporting an evening clutch.

The fashion week highlighted local designer Nuno Lopes’ SS2019 show, “Walk on Water”. On a floating catwalk built on the hotel’s waterways and whimsically decorated with white balloons, models reinterpreted the designer’s latest collection brought back from London Fashion Week.

The stellar shows were followed by presentations featuring local designers at Shoppes at the Parisian Macao’s Avenue Champs-Élysées and Shoppes at the Venetian’s Grand Canal.
