The special bag was sold at a Spink auction in Hong Kong
The Hermès Silver Mini Kelly bag, a possibly unique special order, fetched a world record of HK$500,000 (US$63,750) at a Spink auction in Hong Kong.
Considered a masterpiece and being one of the top five most special handbags in the world, this elegant sterling silver Kelly 15cm bag features a removable Chaine D’Ancre shoulder strap.
Secured with a branded sterling silver turn-lock closure on the front flap, the bag became the spotlight in Spink’s first auction of luxury handbags and accessories.
The sale comprised more than 100 handbags and accessories in different shapes and forms, including a Hermès Kelly Millennium Moonlight and a Birkin So Black.
The deal marked a new chapter for the company in the lifestyle collectors market – it was the first live sale of handbags and accessories in Hong Kong. Founded in 1666 and headquartered in London, auction house Spink holds more than 70 auctions a year.
