Lanvin’s autumn-winter 2017 collection reveals designer Bouchra Jarrar’s ‘tender yet strong’ side at Paris Fashion Week

Jarrar has taken Lanvin in a whole new direction in her autumn-winter 2017 collection with her ready-to-wear women’s collection for the heritage fashion house

Tender and strong feminity is exactly what Bouchra Jarrar’s going for in her sophomore collection for Lanvin as artistic director of women’s collection.

Known for her expertise in tailoring and leatherwork, Jarrar has come up with a slew of refreshing eveningwear options in the autumn-winter 2017 collection – a black satin smoking jumpsuit with a plunging neckline paired with perfectly tailored lounge coat with luminous stripe weave, and a panelled shirtdress with ruffled silk collar matched with leather biker vest.

Sleek silk slip dresses updated with carefully draped neckline are right on point when it comes to Parisian chic.

The play on tenderness and power is constantly referenced throughout the collection. Flou dresses with cascading hems and pastel ballerina dresses with lace sleeves are styled with punkish python chain boots and fishnets, with echoes of the heritage maison’s ultrafeminine roots.
