Who is Cameron Diaz’s doppelgänger sister, Chimene Diaz? She’s a big supporter of Netflix’s Back in Action star – and a certified fitness instructor and property agent
Although she’s grown more reclusive in recent years, Chimene used to accompany her There’s Something About Mary star sister to red carpet events, and the two reportedly share an ‘intense’ bond
But Diaz is not the only gorgeous and successful woman in her family. Her lookalike older sister, Chimene Diaz – they’re often mistaken as twins because of their similarly bright smiles – is just as accomplished, albeit in a different field. The two sisters, both in their fifties, seem to have a good relationship and are often spotted spending time together and with each other’s children. They were also photographed at several public events together, such as the There’s Something About Mary premiere in 1998, GQ’s third annual Men of the Year Awards the same year, and the 2000 MTV Movie Awards.
Similarly, the Bad Teacher star is known to be a doting aunt to her nieces and nephew. Of her bond with Chimene, Cameron said in 2009, “It’s one of the most intense bonds, being with somebody from the time you enter the world and being that close to one another.”
However, in recent years, Chimene has maintained a considerably low profile, with her once-public Instagram turned private and her appearances with her sister, rare.
So, what do we know about the Charlie’s Angels star’s older sister, Chimene Diaz?
What is Chimene Diaz’s background?
Chimene Diaz was born on June 5, 1970, in San Diego, California. The Diaz sisters reportedly come from a working-class family who raised them in Long Beach, California. Their father, Emilio Diaz, was Cuban-American and reportedly served as a foreman at an oil company called Unocal. Their mother, Billie Diaz (née Early), who was of Italian and German descent, worked in the import business.
When they were young, Cameron and Chimene watched football at their father’s behest to learn teamwork. Unfortunately, their father passed away at the age of 58 due to complications from pneumonia.
