The dad of 4 is reuniting with Wentworth Miller in a new series – so why did his relationship with Billy Ray Cyrus’ ex, Tish Cyrus, cause a rift between mum and daughter Noah Cyrus?

Dominic Purcell and Wentworth Miller became instant sensations as brothers on the hit show Prison Break between 2006 and 2009. In July this year, it was announced the duo would be reuniting for another series, Snatchback, which is still under development.

Acclaimed writer Scott Rosenbaum is on the project as writer and executive producer, while Tish Cyrus’ name is also on as an executive producer. Tish, who is Miley Cyrus’ mum and Billy Ray Cyrus’ ex-wife, married Purcell last year.

Although their romance was made public in 2022, they were already vibing back in 2016. According to Us Weekly, Purcell sent Tish a direct message on Instagram to say that he thought she was doing a great job as a mum. His then-girlfriend blocked Tish and Tish herself didn’t see the message until much later.

In April 2022, Billy Ray Cyrus and Tish split for good, and just a few months later, Tish was leaving heart emoticons under Purcell’s posts on Instagram. A year later, Purcell popped the question, and in August 2023 the couple got married.

After Tish and Purcell got married, it was widely reported Tish’s daughter Noah had dated the Prison Break star before her mum. According to E! News, Noah and her brother Braison did not attend their mother’s wedding, while their siblings Miley, Trace and Brandi were all present. E! News later reported Tish and Purcell’s romance had caused a family rift, but in July this year they were spotted together running errands, signalling a truce between mum and daughter.
