Jordan Rodgers and Fletcher have co-hosted several reality TV shows together, and got engaged twice while almost breaking up in between … but why did Aaron Rodgers skip their wedding?

NFL star Aaron Rodgers is a notorious figure in the pop culture sphere, and the recent release of his Netflix documentary series, Enigma, is further proof of that. The New York Jets quarterback is prone to controversy and, more often than not, his polarising statements are to blame. From accusing Jimmy Kimmel of being involved with convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein to giving false impressions about his vaccination status during the Covid-19 pandemic – claiming he was “immunised” when he was not, in fact, vaccinated – Rodgers has received plenty of backlash over the years.
Things got worse for him earlier this year when a shocking report by CNN alleged that he didn’t believe the 2012 Sandy Hook school shooting – in which 20 young children and six adults were killed – was real. Rumours at the time suggested that independent presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr (who later dropped out of the race and endorsed Donald Trump) was considering Rodgers for his running mate in the 2024 US presidential election.

Then there’s the drama around his estranged family. When his younger brother Jordan appeared on season 12 of The Bachelorette and was introducing his future wife, JoJo Fletcher, to his family, he mentioned that he and his brother “don’t really have that much of a relationship”.

“It’s just kind of the way he’s chosen to do life, and I chose to stay close to my family and my parents and my brother [Luke] and, yeah, it’s not ideal. And I love him,” the reality star shared.

Aaron Rodgers called the comments “inappropriate” and expressed his irritation to sportswriter Ian O’Connor, author of the newly released unauthorised biography Out of the Darkness: The Mystery of Aaron Rodgers.

“Aaron did not appreciate that Jordan was using their personal issues to increase his visibility for a potential TV career,” O’Connor writes in the book. On top of that, Aaron went off on a rant about the “stupid dating show” in his recent documentary, claiming he was never asked to go to the hometown dinner to meet Fletcher – “not that I would’ve gone”.

But family drama aside, who is Jordan Rodgers? Here’s what to know.

He also played American football
