It was her childhood dream to star in a Broadway show – and now US Supreme Court Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson has ticked that box. The 54-year-old starred in the musical & Juliet, a show described by the New York Post as a “queer reimagining” of Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet. The justice had two scenes for the one-time walk-on role in mid-December.
“I just always loved theatre and I’ve felt very comfortable onstage. I was always performing from when I was very young. It felt like the theatre people were my people,” she told CBS ahead of her performance.

When Brown Jackson had her confirmation hearing back in March 2022, it was her husband who grabbed headlines for his emotional response. Jackson was spotted wiping away tears as Brown Jackson told of the support she receives from her man, via Town & Country.
“Speaking of unconditional love, I’d like to introduce you to my husband of 25 years, Dr Patrick Jackson,” she said during her opening remarks. “I have no doubt that without him by my side from the very beginning of this incredible professional journey, none of this would have been possible.” she said.
The emotional moment was caught on camera and after Jackson wiped away copious tears, he soon found himself an internet sensation.
