The 2 sisters have always shared a close bond, Rachel helping Dolly with make-up on tour and providing backing vocals on stage – she also starred in the TV remake of Dolly’s film 9 to 5
This year, country music legend Dolly Parton released a soul-satisfying cookbook created with her lookalike younger sister Rachel Parton George. Good Lookin’ Cookin’ is a tribute to the Parton family kitchen and features dishes inspired by the women’s late mother, Avie Lee Owens.
“Dolly cooks quite a bit like our mother,” Rachel told The Hollywood Reporter on the book’s release in September, adding that it was an opportunity for the sisters to “share memories and recipes”.

Reminiscing about their family, Rachel, 65, said, “We often talk about Mama and then we’ll start talking about our aunts, our grandmothers, our dad, some of our brothers.” Dolly, 78, reflected on how she enjoyed working with her sister, which, she added, had given her a fresh perspective on their relationship.
From Rachel’s cooking with Dolly to growing up as the youngest Parton sibling, here’s everything you need to know about her.
Rachel is one of 12 Parton children

Rachel Parton George was born on August 31, 1959, the youngest of a big family of 12 siblings. Parents Avie Lee Owens and Robert Lee Parton Sr raised their brood in Locust Ridge, in the Great Smoky Mountains region of East Tennessee.
She dropped out of school early

Parton George left school after eighth grade to join her sister Dolly on tour. Rachel helped Dolly on the road by occasionally doing her make-up and singing backing vocals. “We’ve always gotten along really good … it was a joy all the way around to work on something creative together,” Dolly told allrecipes.com.
