There was a time in the early noughties when actor Billy Bob Thornton was the subject of every other tabloid headline thanks to his three-year marriage to Angelina Jolie.

More than two decades have passed since Thornton and Jolie divorced in 2003, and now the Sling Blade actor is once again making headlines as he takes on the role of Tommy Norris in Taylor Sheridan’s new Paramount+ series, Landman.

The actor and former director has consistently captivated audiences with his performances in films such as A Simple Plan (1998), for which he earned an Academy Award nomination for Best Actor in a Supporting Role, and Sling Blade (1996), for which he won an Oscar for Best Adapted Screenplay.

Other than his successful career, Thornton has also garnered attention for getting married half a dozen times, his fifth wife being Tomb Raider’s Jolie.

By contrast, Thornton has been with his sixth and current wife, Connie Angland, for a decade.
