Jon Gosselin, 47, of Jon & Kate Plus 8 fame is starting a new chapter of his life.

The TLC alum just got engaged to his long-time girlfriend, Stephanie Lebo, 37, a decade and a half after divorcing Kate Gosselin, with whom he shares eight children. He got down on one knee last month at Lebo’s favourite eatery – Willoughby’s on Park in Wyomissing, Pennsylvania – surrounded by their parents. The sparkler is a stunning emerald-cut diamond, which Lebo flaunted on her Instagram with the caption, “Of course I said yes.”

The couple met through mutual friends in August 2021, per People magazine, but only went public with their relationship last year.

Reporting exclusively on their engagement, Entertainment Tonight revealed what Lebo’s father told her shortly after the special moment. “You don’t know how long I waited for this day for you, and there was a time where I thought it was never going to happen for you. I’m so very happy for you and Jon,” he said. As for his advice for the soon-to-be husband and wife? “Never stop being in love. Love comes first.”

In a later update shared with the outlet, Gosselin revealed he would be inviting all his children to his wedding – although he only asked Hannah and Collin Gosselin, who live with him, for their approval. He is estranged from his other six children.

Stephanie Lebo has the Greek word for “Greek” in her Instagram bio, providing a clue to her heritage. Her father, Ralph Lebo, worked at paints and coatings company AkzoNobel in the powder coatings R&D centre for over five decades. He retired in June and his daughter marked the occasion with a Facebook tribute. “Very proud and thankful he is my old man,” she wrote in part, while her fiancé commented, “Congratulations Ralph, you’re a great man and I’m proud to know you and be in your life. Thank you for creating such an amazing daughter! Looking forward to many sporting events together.”

Lebo’s mother is Rita Lebo. Her Facebook page says she graduated from the Community General Hospital School of Radiology and is now retired.
