Anna Kane has publicly come forward as one of Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs’ growing list of accusers – here’s what we know about her and her lawsuit against the music mogul
According to legal documents, the ex-wife of NHL star Evander Kane was ordered to reveal her identity if she wanted to continue her lawsuit against the music mogul.
“I had hoped to use a pseudonym in pursuing justice for what happened to me as a teenager,” Kane shared in a statement to TMZ via her lawyer. “Defendants’ demand that I use my name was an attempt to intimidate me, but I am not intimidated. I am prepared to proceed and hold accountable those who have harmed me.”
According to her lawsuit, Kane claims that she met Bad Boy Entertainment president Harve Pierre in 2003 in Detroit, and was invited to go on a private jet to meet Combs. She said she was 17 years old at the time of the supposed meeting.
Upon arriving in New York, Kane claimed she met Diddy in a recording studio, where he and others reportedly gave her drugs and alcohol before sexually assaulting her.
“As the night wore on, the 17-year-old Ms Kane became more and more inebriated, eventually to the point that she could not possibly have consented to having sex with anyone, much less someone twice her age,” the complaint states. “While at the studio, Ms Kane was gang raped by Mr Combs, the third assailant and Mr Pierre, in that order.”
The lawsuit includes four photos that were “taken in the studio that night, leaving no doubt that Ms Kane was in Mr Combs’ New York City studio, with Mr Combs, on the night she was raped”.
At the time of Kane’s initial filing, Combs denied the claims. “Enough is enough. For the last couple of weeks, I have sat silently and watched people try to assassinate my character, destroy my reputation and my legacy,” he wrote on social media. “Let me be absolutely clear: I did not do any of the awful things being supposed. I will fight for my name, my family and for the truth.” He is currently in jail awaiting trial.
