Michael Lohan has been married twice, fathered a child out of wedlock while married to Lindsay’s mum – and felt the force of the law for insider trading, violating probation, patient brokering and DUI

Ever since Lindsay Lohan made her triumphant return to Hollywood, the internet has been in awe of her rejuvenated beauty. The 38-year-old Our Little Secret star credits her skincare routine for her youthful glow, but plastic surgery experts have chimed in to suggest several procedures such as blepharoplasty (surgical eyelid rejuvenation), a facelift and injectables, as well as weight loss as possible sources of her “glow-up”.

With Lohan’s appearance back under the microscope, her father, Michael Lohan, has come to her defence, claiming to Page Six, “Lindsay never had any plastic surgery done ever. Her look [is] so natural – just like her talent.” However, he admitted that his daughter had done “peels, fillers and Botox”.

Not long ago, he also called out Mean Girls screenwriter Tina Fey for making a musical remake of the iconic film instead of a sequel. “Mean Girls is not Mean Girls without Lindsay!” he wrote on Instagram. Lindsay Lohan’s relationship with her father is known to have been rocky over the years, but what else do we know about him? Here’s what to know.

Michael Lohan was an aspiring actor growing up. He made a career as a commodities trader on Wall Street though, and got into the habit of drinking and using cocaine, with the latter eventually leading to heart disease, per reports. He got clean when Lindsay was born. Michael was briefly an actor, known for works like Horrorween (2011); his father left him a pasta business and, per Palm Beach Post, he once owned a substance abuse treatment facility himself. Currently, he is interested in preaching the Gospel – something he has done in the past – per his Instagram.

His love life has been rocky

Michael Lohan and Dina Sullivan got married in 1985 and had four children together. After separating and getting back together, the pair eventually divorced in 2007. E! News reported that during their marriage, Lohan fathered a daughter, Ashley Horn, with a woman named Kristi Horn. Lohan met Ashley, who was born in 1995, for the first time in 2012, on The Trisha Goddard Show. He later married and divorced ex-reporter Kate Major, with whom he shares two children. Their long-drawn-out divorce involved domestic violence allegations, according to People.
